What's New on the Blog Site - November 2020

Writer's picture: tgandco2tgandco2

Well, summer is definitely over, we turned the clocks back last night (when are we going to stop having to do that!). We had a great Thanksgiving dinner, unfortunately not at the cottage this year but it was fun nonetheless. A smaller group this year, but as a bonus, we ended up having two Thanksgiving dinners. Kevin missed the first one as he was travelling in the US so we had a second dinner last night so he was included. Roast turkey twice in one month, mmmm.

Before I get into what is new on the blog site this month I want to do something I should have done early. I want to say thank you to Teresa who acts as my editor for the articles I post. The articles are much more readable, fewer words repeated and generally much more enjoyable after Teresa reviews and corrects. Thanks, Teresa, I really appreciate it.

Ok here is what is new on the site last month.

  • I wrote four new posts this month. Two on our trip to Japan, Our Journey to Sapporo and Otaru and Our Journey to Osaka (and Kobe and Hiroshima). I have one more post to go to complete the outlines of our month-long stay in Japan. Watch for that this month. I wrote a fun article Why I think golf is the best sport and a more serious one, What Can We Do About Climate Change. If you have time to read them I hope you enjoy them. Let me know any feedback

  • I read nine books this month, seven non-fiction and 2 fiction. You will find them highlighted in red in the updated What to Read post.

  • The books of the month are highlighted in red on the What to Read post and also listed in the Books of the month - an easy way to find great books to read. Given the Masters is in two weeks, delayed from its normal April date my non-fiction book of the month is The Majors by John Feinstein. If you are a golfer I think you will love this book, but even for non-golfers it is interesting and has lots of background information on the four major golf tournaments (The Masters, The US Open, The British Open (also known as The Open) and the PGA Championship). The fiction book of the month is The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn a great psychological suspense thriller I think you will really enjoy

  • There are three new wines highlighted in red in the Great Wines under $20! and the wine of the month in the My Favourite Wines blog is Sister's Run Epiphany Shiraz 2017 a delicious Australian red wine that is $17.95 at the LCBO

I hope you enjoy reading the update site and please don't hesitate to send any comments to thethirdperiod.ca@gmail.com. Thanks again Teresa for all the editing help!
