As I mentioned when I launched my blog I hope to have guest posts or connections from many of my talented family and friends. I know many of you have a lot of interests and interesting things to share so I am looking forward to hearing from you.
My first guest connection is from my friend Paul and his blog - Greenyblog - https://greenyblog.ca/.
Paul, Greeny to all his friends, and I are childhood friends. When I say childhood, I mean we have known each other since grade 1 (maybe earlier). We grew up a few doors from each other in our parents' homes in Agincourt. We went to the same grade and high school. We played road hockey, ice hockey on the pond behind our houses, baseball (which I sucked at), track (I remember doing high jump in Paul's backyard (he was good, I wasn't)).
But my favourite sport was golf. Along with our friends Rick and Mike who also lived on the same street our parents got us a membership at Tam O'Shanter Golf Club a semi-private club at the time (it is now owned by the City of Toronto). The four of us would walk and carry our clubs approximately one mile to the golf course and then play as many holes as we could fit into the daylight. We then often would "borrow" a shopping cart from Loblaws to push our clubs home. It was great fun.
I lost track of my three friends as Teresa and I moved around Canada and we were all busy with careers and family. Five years ago I tracked Rick down through Facebook and that allowed me to reconnect with Paul and Mike. We now try and play golf together a few times a summer, Paul, Mike and I got in a hike one winter day and Paul and I are trying to do some cycling together.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy Greenyblog. Let me know any ideas you have and remember I am looking forward to your contributions.
